Ground Level Book
Once while camping out in the desert I came across a dead snake that had been run over while trying to cross the road. I wrote a very short story about that snake and its imagined last moments and then designed this book to both contain and represent the story. This is a unique one-of-a-kind book utilizing a simple structure with a partial outer cover made of black textured paper, an inner vellum sheet that was printed with the spare tire from my truck, and a folded sewn in 'snake' body made by pasting together the single story page onto a Giclee print of a (scanned) snake skin. The books dimensions when closed are 16"H x 9"W.
