I began with the belief that photography involved the production (taking) of singular photographic images, and although I still appreciate that perspective, in my own image-making I gravitate toward a broader definition. Photography is more than capturing reality, it is about imagining and fashioning my own personal reality. Thus, a photograph is usually just a starting point. Alternative (non-silver) processes, unusual cameras and film formats (Widelux, Diana, SX-70 Polaroid), combinations of objects and photographs, are all areas that I’ve explored.
